It is very hard to get a poker rate on weekends. You are lucky to get a room at a fleabag motel for $100 on weekends in the summer.

Taj requires a poker card and is you should be able to get a weekday room if you call the day before. Borgata is cheap on weekdays for a real nice room if you play 4 or 8 hours of poker. You need a card and call a week in advance. They try to put you in smoking rooms or rooms where construction starts at 7AM. Tropicana requires you have averaged 5 hours of play per session, but gives a good room and rate if you qualify.

During the week, you may find deals online at casino and other good hotel/motels not that much worse than the poker rates.
