It's uncanny how much easier it was to get into the 2005 TOC through a circuit championship than through the WSOP main event. The top 20 "point finishers" from each circuit series were really just the top 20 placed in the Main Event of that series, and of course the fields were much smaller than the WSOP ME. It' sort of criminal if Allen Cunningham and Mark Seif don't get to play the freeroll (they may have qualified in the circuit events, but as far as I read the criteria, won't get an invite into the TOC based on their performances over the summer).
Notably, no one seems to know when--or even if--this year's TOC will take place. My friend qualified, but has been trying unsuccesfully to find out when/where it is; the details remain a mystery. I've even heard it suggested that they'll cancel the whole thing and ship all the qualifiers 20K.
