Re: Raquel Welch
I saw Ms. Welch in Nam around Xmas of '67. She was walking across a freight ramp, wearing utilities and being escorted by a bunch of officers who looked like they had never been within ten miles of dirt.
There was an infantry platoon sitting in the shade about 20 yards away, waiting for a lift somewhere. If you've never been to war, you have no idea what an infantry platoon looks like or smells like. A few of the guys started yelling at her; a couple of others pulled out their cameras and started taking pictures.
Ms. Welch broke away from her escort and ran up to one of the guys with a camera. Her words: "Hey buddy, you left your lens cap on." Then she ran back to her panicing escort.
I'd give her my last nickle.
