Default Re: How big are sng\'s comparing to ring games ?

[ QUOTE ]
Having played both I'd say 5/10 is probably about the same size as $100 SNGs. BR reqs and win rates should be similar as well for players of equal skill.

The $5s are probably the smallest game available on party, the 10s are basically in line with .5/1. 20s, 1/2, 30s are probably around 2/4.

The big difference in the 20s and 30s vs 1/2 and 2/4 is that I think much bigger win rates are possible compared to the limit counterparts.

No way, you should have $20,000 bank roll to be multitabling 5/10. You can easily multi-table 100 SNG's with $5,000 or $10,000 bankroll if you are conservative.

To put it into perspective if you have a 10 buy in down swing at 2/4 NL that is $4,000. (This is not unheard of by the way; i've heard of people tilting this away in one night).

At the 100's in the SNG's that is a 40 buy in down swing. Those are extremely, extremely rare...

To me 3/6NL is more like the 100's 5/10 is possibly compared to the 200's, possibly i still feel that 5/10 plays on a higher level...

Only reason party doesn't have a higher SNG level is because the steps are such a rake trap for them.
