Stud will be revived when the equivalent of Small Stakes Hold'em is written, not before.

I think it was written in 1996: "7 Card Stud: How to Win at the Medium and Lower Limits" by Roy West.

It's not the same.

Stud needs more fish and more sharks.

WPT helped the fish find Hold'em, 2+2 brought the Sharks.

Stud, even if 2+2 did publish the equivalent of SSHE for Stud would attract the Sharks, but there are only so many fish out there, and TV isn't going to help Stud like it did to Hold'em.

Furthermore, the only reason why Omaha is gaining in popularity is because the fish think it's so much like Hold'em, just a little more complex, wheras Stud is a completely different beast.

Just the way I see it, could be wrong, but I doubt it.

What if the WPT added other games as the feature event? PPM is limit HE, but what about a Stud event and a PLO tournament that makes it to the TV? I think that these games would grow much more if the fish could learn the basics by watching it on TV like they did with NLHE.
