Anyway, I don't feel that I understand the logic behind this statement, what's so bad about limping second?

I limp second all the time. You're not thinking about open-limping in LP perhaps? Because that's a no-no.
Only other thing I can think of is raising to isolate a single weak limper sometimes being appropriate, but this is the exception and not the rule at the microlimits.
