You guys aren't thinking clearly, if it wasn't fun to splash around, you would all have to go get jobs. Be thankful that poker is fun to play because the profit comes from people that enjoy playing.

steamboatin, I understand this PERFECTLY WELL.

But if you're not able to overcome that base "I like to play a lot" instinct, then you'll have a hard time becoming another more than a breakeven low limit player.

And to be honest, tightening up is about the easiest step I've gone through as a poker player. If you want to win money, going from loose-passive to tight-passive is much easier than going from tight-passive to tight-aggressive --- and MUCH easier than becoming a skilled tight-aggresive, something I'm always struggling with.

Tightening up is just not. that. hard. Just play fewer hands. Stop coldcalling for awhile (fold/raise instead). Read SSH for starting hand guidelines, and stick to them -- the tight, not the loose guidelines.
