I also find this move works best when your opponent has chips to spare, but not TOO many, say for example 12-13BB and has limped. When it's a loose or tight player (unless he's very weak-tight or weak-loose), putting in so much of their stack, they feel "committed" and will call too much to make it an +EV move. Even when they have a bigger stack though, it still depends if they're basically a moron, but when your stack is around half theirs and the limp isn't much, they do tend to lay down more.
