Amen, brother. I went through the same experience myself and also made the choice to leave the corporate world behind.

While there are cases where some individuals have landed in a good position, the state of the work place in the corporate world is not good in this day and age.

This is especially true if you are in a middle management position, which I also was. Every day for a middle manager is nothing more than dealing with the self-serving whims of senior management and the whining from subordinates who quite often have an entitlement mentality. I cannot imagine any existence that will suck the life out of you more than that.
