Default Re: Any new Mohegan Sun rumors?

[ QUOTE ]
there was plenty of demand for 2 poker rooms. clearly slots would make more money for the casino, there's no argument there.

You probably know this, but I just woke up and need to exercise my fingers

The average slot machine is more profitable, but sometimes incremental slot machines are not. By incremental, I mean that slots located in prime areas (near the front, near isles, ect.) make the most money. Eventually, you run out of places to put extremely profitable slots, since slots in out of the way or undesirable areas would typically be used only during peak hours. In areas where casinos can expand relatively easily and quickly, your casino floor space becomes big enough to support a poker room or other low margin games. That said, sometimes casinos put in a poker room and sacrifice some profit because that is what the public expects in a full service casino.

If Mohegan Sun has room to expand again, my guess is a poker room will go in then. But there also may be some built in bias against poker in upper management. For example, if I was a casino manager/owner, I wouldn't like hearing the way poker nits typically treat and potentially offend my high rollers.
