playing during the all-star break: conceiveably (except the break was on Monday through Wednesday)

missing ANY games, even between starts, to go to Vegas: no freaking way!!

Not kidding. Doesn't matter that he's not going to be used as a pinch-runner. he has a bull-pen to threw between starts and other workout stuff....and you are just expected to be there. Period.

Clemens has gotten a special exception now I believe where he gets to skip out on the occasional game and spend more time with his kids.
Unless you're a Clemens you're not going to get away with this.

ANY player who were to leave their team for a day or two for something like this would immediately be shunned.


Obviously the previous post gives further evidence that it is definitely not him playing at the WSOP. But I already knew that this would be impossible for a major league ballplayers to do even before someone pointed out that it really is someone different.


If they held the WSOP in Feb or something (or if he wanted to play in a different tournament like the Bellagio 5-diamond thing in Dec) then I'm not sure what the possibilities would be.
Baseball and casinos/gambling don't exactly mix very well. But I suspect they could get away with it (just I suspect an NFL NBA or NHL player could get away with playing in the WSOP in July if they wanted to since they are in the off-season).



Next topic - if he's wearing the stuff so much I wonder if he just likes the gear...or if he is somehow being compensated to wear the stuff suring interviews.
