I've read posts on
chiptalk where people swear that you can put labels on faux clay despite the fact that there's no recessed center.
However, as much as I love my faux clays for a friendly game, I think doing so would be a major PITA. So, I agree with the other poster -- if you want security, either look for some NexGens (I think you can find them for as little as 13c a chip) or hotstamp the diamonds.
