When you lend money to a bunch of people in a cardroom, you should expect that you will not get 100% of it back. This is the one guy who's stiffed you. Hopefully the next 20 guys you lend money to will be more trustworthy.

(That last line was a joke. I don't lend money in cardrooms (nonetheless, I've still managed to get screwed) and you probably won't either, now that you've learnt your lesson.)
