Racing off chips?
From cardplayer:"The players take a 30-minute break before the blinds increase to $3,000-$6,000, with $1,000 antes. The pink $500 chips will be raced off during the break."
I understand this is to get rid of the chips that don't total up to the new minimum denomination, but how does this actually work?
