The tie bet is awful. It has something like a 12% house edge I think...avoid it. Look, if you want to play baccarat, look at it as an entertainment expense. Say the edge is 2% (it's something like that, not sure exactly). If you bet 100 a hand, it will cost you about $2 per hand in the long run. So say you want to play 2 hours everytime you go there...that's about 160 hands. Your expected loss is $320. In the short term, ANYTHING can happen, but in the long run it will work out about like this. So it's up to you to decide if baccarat is entertaining enough to cost you $160 an hour. Comps also lessen the expected loss. But, do note that the VARIANCE is huge. So only play with money you can afford to lose. Expect that you can't beat it in the long run and in the short run can lose quite a bit (or win quite a bit) quickly.
