I play AK just like you Kratzer. I think it's tough for a lot of players (even tight players) to lay down overpairs on a rag board even with a reraise. For example, if a 9-high board comes down, your going to have to bet the full pot with AK out of position and hope he folds. I would rather play it like you, and checkraise a continuation bet if I hit with AK. Espcially since you may entice a MP limper to call the CO's raise and get some more money in the pot if you elect not to rerase.
