Re: WSOP hand
[ QUOTE ]
Nearing the end of level 3 at the first $1500 buy in tournament. I have about T6500, big stack at the table and have been playing aggressively. I'm in the small blind with QQ. Blinds are 50-100 with a 25 ante. All fold to the button who makes it 400. He was fairly new to the table and had seen me raise about 4 of the last 8 hands. Anyway, I reraise to 1300, not really wanting to see a flop out of position. He thinks for about 30 seconds and announces he is all in. He has about 2800 total. It's 1100 to me, I think for a few seconds and call. His AK outflops me and I take a pretty big hit. I'm sure that my call was good, but I'd like some other opinions. Any reason at all to lay this down at that point for that price?

Did you sell >100% of yourself, ala the Producers? You didn't state that but I assumed it was implied, given that's the only way this makes sense. If so, once he pushes you have to fold, but I would have played the hand differently up to that point. It's all trivial though as you should be able to maximize your bustEV fairly easily in short order.
