right, so that means he's checking the turn through and calling any river, sometimes even with K high

Why bet and not check raise? The check raise, even if button checks behind, more clearly defines your hand as holding an ace, no? If he checks behind, you bet out on the river and probably accomplish your goal.

By the way, I like the play.
