Default Re: heads up, fold to a check/raise?

[ QUOTE ]
PP $1/$2

I post in the cutoff w/ J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. It folds around to me, I raise, BB calls.

Flop Q,J,5 rainbow. BB check/calls.

Turn: 5. BB check/raises.

2 questions: (1) What do I do now? (2) Was the flop pf raise good? I'm not sure. I think it would've been a good move a year ago, but the game has gotten so much more aggressive lately. Blinds are very unlikely to fold to an LP open raise. a bigger pot will also mean I will have a harder time getting my opponent to fold after the flop.

PFR is good. You should be raising anything here. It's a parlay of getting villains to fold their random blind hands combined with an increased chance of taking it down on the flop with nothing. Plus you actually flop something on occasion and show down the best hand.

I think you pay this one off. It could be somebody getting tricky with you. But if you show down a winner, remember that this guy probably thinks you're a stupid fish for raising it preflop and he might play back at you more often.
