The house advantage is only .13 percent vs. most BJ games where it is around .48 or more. That alone makes it a more +EV game compared to BJ. Also, I could be mistaken, but I believe variance is lower as well. I also think it's more fun for some reason.
I haven't looked into why the HA is so much lower, but my guess is because 2-1 pontoon payouts are much more likely than a blackjack since you can draw to them as well as being dealt them, and therefore you can also double down into a pontoon which is very fun. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
One final point, both of these games should be mindless since you play strictly by a strat card. There are no decisions to be made in these games.
