Getting the \"Poker Rate\" For Vegas Casinos
I've read a lot in this forum about getting quoted a poker rate to stay at some of the Vegas casinos. As a test, I called the MGM the other day and they seemed to know very little about it (I remember reading somewhere that they were planning on instituting it, but it seems they have yet to do so). They transferred me from reservations to VIP to talk to the guy about it and he (pretty much) said he couldn't quote me a rate cause I wasn't a high-roller or someone who had stayed there in the past.
Anyway, my questions are as follows:
--For you regulars, what are the best places to try to get this rate?
--Does this rate only apply to higher limit games (I usually only play lower limits, up to 5-10 and 6-12)?
--I am traveling with my family (4 others, and we're planning on taking up two rooms total), none of whom play poker, so I'd be the only one playing. Can I still expect to get a discounted rate?
