With the flop texture as it is, villain is calling with one of three things:

(1) a strong hand, such as two pair or a set.
(2) a mediocre hand, such as QJ or KJ
(3) a weak hand, like 88, which he thinks might be good against AK/AQ/KQ

Now your line depends on how agressive he is, and how likely he is to call with the last set of hands. Because him having a very strong hand is unlikely, I like betting out here if he is going to keep calling you down with 88 and less, and there certainly are those on party who will.

If he is less of a caller, and a bit more agressive, he will probably assume that if you checked that his 88 or TJ is good, and bet it out. Flat call, then bet big on the river to look like a bluff.
