Default Re: Full-time playing in California

But I´ve heard the area around the casino is pretty rough, is that true?

And is it a place where you would want to stay for a long time, like a month or something?

Well, the City of Commerce is almost all industrial, so it's not at all a suburban bedroom community. It's almost completely warehouses, industrial parks, etc. I'm not sure I'd walk around after dark, but there's no need to do so. You drive onto the casino property and when you're done, you drive off.

Commerce isn't a city that you can spend much time in for things like eating out, seeing movies, etc. There is an outlet mall, but that's about the limit to the shopping. However, anything you might want to do is within 20 minutes of driving. If you're going to spend more than 30 days here, I'd probably try to find an apartment complex which dealt with short-term renters. I've got to think you could find a place for less than $1500 a month.

The Bicycle Casino is a 5-10 minute drive away, and Hawaiian Gardens and Crystal Park are both within 20-25 minutes.
