My take on your situation is kinda like this..I've been there before also.
When you throw a stack of chips at somebody who is almost broke usually they are only gonna call if they have these 3 situations..
1. an overpair, highest pair on the board or middle pair with a decent kicker
2. trips
3. an openedend st8 or a four to the flush draw..
They have any of these hands they most of the time go all in on you..You call hopefully you win
When you throw your chips around like you are describing, it makes some folks mad.Basically they will sometimes sit on AA or KK to trap your behind. We know how that works.
Now if anybody who has a decent amount of chips pulls a hand I described earlier, they might just decide to call...why do they need to bet their top pair with the A kicker when you throwing your chips out for them...
I write notes either online or on a notepad as I go along...see what hands they will call with and use it against them.
