gambling is illegal is taiwan. but you will be able to find LOTS to underground type sh1t and a lot of home games and stuff.
taiwanese play alot of poker but no hold'em. you should learn 13(literally translated means 13 cards) also called chinese poker. you should also learn this game that goes by a few different names big dick/big 2/13(don't get it confused, its a different game) literally translated the game is called "big old 2". and theres also this game which plays like hold'em but just a litte different, literally translated it means "all in".
i also suggest you watch the movie(s) "god of gamblers". its a classic. poker is pretty big over there.
theres casinos in macau which is just off the coast of taiwan. you might be able to find some poker action over there.
