Try playing for some hours at .25/.50 and you will feel if you beat the game or not (my guess: conscious play and you will crush it). Remember that at .25/.50 it is not yet time to start stealing/bluffing (save that for .50/1) as there is almost always a marginal hand that will follow you to the river.
