Something is messing up the hand histories between your friend exporting them and you importing them. You shouldn't have to fix the wrapping yourself. Try having your friend put the hand histories into a Zip file, and email it as an attachment. That, or have him put them up on some free webspace like
Geocities or
AngelFire. Also, make sure you both have the same PT version. I don't think that'd be the cause, but it couldn't hurt.
