If you learn hold'em though it is pretty easy to transfer your skills to another game, or vice versa.
I have no idea how to play stud, but I do good at it because I still know the approximate strength of my hand, can kind of read my opponents, can remember most of the cards that have been exposed, and I'm aggressive, which makes me someone you don't want to mess with at the 7'stud table, even though i'm pretty much clueless.
I'm amazed that i'm actually a winner at 7'stud (maybe i'm just getting lucky so far), but the above appears to create a dangerous combination, even if you aren't an expert in the game.
