Any bridge players around? If so, you are probably familiar with this concept, but for those who aren't - let me introduce you to duplicate play.

When applied to bridge, this is done live, but for poker I see it working better on a computer. Lets say 200 people are playing, 20 tables of ten players. Each table plays 500 hands, but the twist is that they are the same hands at each table. You are competing against the 19 other people that are sitting in the same position you are at the other tables, since they are in the same situation (same cards, position, opposition) you are for each hand. This generally leads to some great post-mortem discussion of hands. I am a reader of the Micro and SS threads and often see conflicting advice for posted hands. Duplicate play gives players a chance to directly compare the results of different actions in nearly identical conditions.

I don't necessarily see this as the "next big thing", but a great tool for training and practical research.
