Strange as it may seem, I think that having an automatic shuffler at a table *does* alleviate dealer abuse. People complain less about the dealer, and it all but puts an end to asking to change the deck.
One drawback is that people now can't find as much to complain about, so when complainers have a run of bad luck, they just go directly to asking for a new setup.
