It kinda depends on context. If there are 4 cars in a giant parking lot I doubt you would say that there are a bunch of them. I would be more inclined to say there are a couple or a few. If there were 4 cars in a driveway then I would say there are a bunch. I always used couple to just mean a smaller number and didnt care that some people only took it to always mean two.
