I've used Opera for years, back before its features were copied by Firefox and other browsers, and to this day I still don't know if I've ever noticed one of the ads. Normally that spot is unused by most browsers anyway. If you pay attention to your firewall, it should be able to block the ads.

Opera has always kicked ass. Anyone still using IE needs to try it. Opera's "reload all pages where they were before a crash" was revolutionary, as was the taskbar layout, as was mouse gestures.
