Default 5/10........Half Pot!?

So at my local card club I took a stab at 5/10 half pot, and after I bought in and got dealt my first hand I realized I didn't actually know how to play half pot. I've played mostly full pot and NL but this was a bit restrictive.

Has anyone played this and know how various hands go up or down in value as opposed to NL? For intance, is it worth raising under the gun to a measly 2 1/2 big blinds?

Here is a hand I played that had me confused, and would never of happened if it was a full pot game:

5-handed, I have Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the CO, UTG folds, I limp, Button folds, and SB raises the max to 25 total. BB folds I call.

I'm a TAG and we (me and SB) both know this, and we both know that. he's a bit of LAG and we both know this, and we both know that.

Pot: $60
flop 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

he checks I bet $30 he calls

Pot: $120
turn 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

he checks I bet $60 he calls

Pot $240

river T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
he bets $100 I fold

I feel a bit lost in this structure, but I would really like to learn it as this is a good game, and also my local casino only plays 5/5 half pot also.
