pls explain DDR NON-ECC SDRAM
Dear Techno. Types:
In Dell's small bus. outlet desktop stockroom, some of the cheaper units list their memory as NON-ECC. I assume this has something to do with error checking, but I don't really know.
What is it?
How much of an advantage is ECC memory over NON-ECC memory?
Would I be safe or not safe assumming that Dell's units that didn't have this noted actually do have ECC memory? Maybe they just stopped listing it this way, but some of the units still do have NON-ECC memory.
Thanks.
