Well, my last post was written in a hurry.

It goes something like this (This goes for only Denmark):

The first 12K you make each year is tax-free.
Thereafter you pay apr. 43% of the next apr. 40
Then apr. 57% of the next 18K
And Apr. 68% of the rest.

Im not into this so the numbers may be a little inacurrate. (When people have to figure out the exact numbers, they disagree, those in favour of lower taxes says it's higher, while those in favour of higher taxes, says it's lower.)
Anyway the legislation is a jungle. There are lawyers making a living from finding loop-holes in the law, for rich people.

You have to pay taxes from almost all incomes, but NOT lotterie or casino winnings inside the EU.

It gets better; when you buy a car, you pay the price of the car, and an 180% charge to the state. Gasoline is heavily taxed too, off course.

Then again, all hospitalization is free, except for some cosmetic operations.
