I start dealing with a deck of Kems or Copags for new people without announcement. Without fail someone remarks within the first couple of hands "These are nice cards" or "What kind of cards are these?"

Then it's the same as Iron Butt's experience. People ask if you have them the next time.

That plus the chips makes for good atmosphere. You get some people playing just for that.
