No, I think you need to tighten up on the bubble.
Steal with 7-5 players left if the blinds are big enough.
As for what to do if you get reraised on a steal, that depends on lots of things such as your stack size, his stack size, pot odds, other stack sizes, when the blinds will be going up, position, your image, other player's image, etc.
Maybe Saabpo has a better answer than this though...
