I understand the difference, but unless you are telling me
that every player in the hand would have called the flop
100% of the time with something like T9 or T8, my point
is still valid, as you want those people to fold. Just
because they are loose and passive does not mean that they
are going to call every flop. Also, loose passive players
do not bet or raise as much as they should, so, as I
already mentioned, betting the flop may buy you a free turn
against these players when they should have bet. I just
threw in that they might fold one of these hands on the flop
as a bonus. It sometimes happens, even in loose passive
games. The flop bet serves a couple of purposes. One of
the purposes is to get people to fold a few hands that even
loose passive players would fold. But that is not the only
reason to bet.
