I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your line, just as long as you checked with the intention of calling. The only other line to take would be to bet the river. For me this is a feel situation and might rely on more specific notes than on stats. i.e. Would he bet more hands he would call with or would he call more hands than he would bet with on the river?
