Thanks for all the comments. I raised with the intention of calling an expected all-in. So of course I called and got unlucky in that he had an ace with a mid kicker. I watched for a while afterwards and he showed his hands a couple of times and they were mostly mid suited connectors. In retrospect, I think maybe I should have just waited for a little better hand to make the same play with.
