I've had some modern clay samples for awhile now and, while I like them well enough, they're a little too chalky and sharp for me. They do get a bit softer afer handling them for awhile but, for the money, they just don't impress me quite enough.

They're a good "medium" chip. But I just don't like medium. If I'm going to spend more than 75 cents a chip, I'll go a bit further and get a nice set of Paulsons. But that's just me. FWIW, I like the Nevada Jack clays- another good medium chip- more than the Modern Clays.
