El's answer is good, and much of it applies to me. Basically, I won't play in a big game, 150-300 or higher, unless there is at least a couple of really weak players in the game. And in the big game, even though there are losers as well as winners (as their always must be), none of the losing players are really weak. So, even if I were sure I had an edge in the game, it wouldn't be enough of an edge for me to want to play.

For example, if I had an edge in that game, it might be that my edge in terms of $/hour is just as good in the 400-800 game at the next table, and with a lot less variance.
