Boris, you are braver than I am. I quit picking up hitchikers in the mid 80s, except in Nat. parks or a fisherman. I did a lot of hitching in the 60s, 70s and early 80s. Only a few scary rides. I hope you got some good fishing info from the guy from Hoopa. Great steelhead fishing in the area. I once had to hitch from Reno to Eureka CA after I lost all my money in Reno. I even cashed in my bus ticket and lost that. I think it took me 30 hrs. No money no food. I'm glad that now finally I'm living like a mature adult. At least I pretend to.
