To extend this question for flop play, are EV and pot/implied odds so close that it doesn't matter which you use for hold 'em? You don't hit as often on the turn, but you get paid off about double. Conversely, if you call the turn unimproved but hit the river, you get paid off some there too. It seems that these two different conditions would help even each other out to around where EV is in the first place. Am I right in that assumption?
