Default Re: 10 Week Challenge : Beginnings

[ QUOTE ]
Guy,

Your challenge is interesting, but there is one aspect I think needs greater emphasis than all others, and that is budgeting. You are young and the poker boom will not last. Live as if you are earning $30K/year and bank every other dollar. Choose something relatively safe and long-term to invest in. Keep playing, keep putting money into your investments. When the boom goes bust (six months? a year? two years?) you'll be glad you saved up. A job may be hard to find, and some small part of your $$ can be used to start a business or go back to school.

Print this out and store it away somewhere. 10 years from now, you will call me up and either thank me for the advice, or tell me you wish you'd listened.

This is simply great advice.

GoT... you're a much better poker player than I, but if you're having a hard time motivating yourself to earn $552/hour, you're a freaking idiot.

Work hard now, relax later.
