I know a lot of people believe this, but I think it is inaccurate.

Over a short number of hands, people who win are getting good cards. If you're getting good cards, you're betting and raising a lot. This is why the aggression numbers are so high for the "winners" in PT databases who only have 100 hands or so.

To make any real judgment about how important aggression is, you need to look at a very large number of hands from a random sample of 6 max players.

I think it is better to say, "If you're going to call, consider raising." But there are many times when simply calling is correct.
