Default Re: Is this the best way to begin to learn Hold\'em? New Players Log

Hi 2+2,

I played my first live no limit hold'em.

It was .5/1 Max $100 buyin. 5%rake.
I bought in for $100 most people bought in for about $40.

I limped into a pot with AA, Flop came 3,5,K rainbow. Player bet $15 everyone folded to me. I put him on TPTK. I bet what he had on the table ($16). He called. It turned out he had K5o for 2 pair. Damn.

I ended up $17.50 for about 3 hours play.

I noticed the dealer held the cards in a right hand mechanics grip but I didn't see or hear anything fishy ... still it was of some concern.

I've been playing on Pacific.
I've nurtured the $10 they gave me into a bankroll of about $26.
Played in 3 $2+.20 20 player SNG's. Came in 12th, 7th, and 2nd($10).
After winning $10 I proceeded to lose $15 in the 1/2 limit game. So I dropped way down in limits to the .05/.10 NL game. Won my way back up to $19.

I took all my money out of Party and am looking for a good bonus. Empire looks attractive but I'm looking for a good bonus. The best I've found so far is 20%. This is a far cry from the 50% I've gotten from Paradise, Party and Ultimate bet. I understand you need to clean out your registry to get a first time bonus from Empire if you've played Party? I was going to run Your Uninstaller on the computer before applying to get the Empire bonus. Is this correct procedure?

Thanks for all the help guys. You guys are a great mentor.
