Default Re: Live Tourney Report--Long, maybe boring

[ QUOTE ]
add in, dear god why did you play that tourney? sounds like a total crapshoot to me. 30k chips w/ a 5k bb and you were a big stack? ugh...

Because it's fun

I don't play this tournament regularly, but I have played it many times over the last couple of years. It's not as bad a crapshoot as it may appear, simply for all the dead money. I am certain I have won more money than I have spent in entries and rebuys (Not that it matters a great deal, I just enjoy playing the tourney every one-in-a-while).

Oh yeah, one other reason...until very recently, it was the only game in town.

You're just spoiled by the internet tournaments that give a good player a lot of time to outplay his opponents. This is live, and real-estate is important in the casino. The game is set up to draw a crowd, then end in 3 - 4 hours, leaving everyone time to play at the tables, or slots, or blackjack....you get the idea.
