Re: Pretty crazy day 1 of WPT Legends tourney

I was a bit dismayed by the 4:15pm start time as well, and asked one of the tournament directors why they did it that way. His response -- which makes sense -- is that there are a number of local...

Re: Dammit Paul! Yer not making it easy for us to worship you.

Todd,

First, I should probably apologize for coming off so negative; from what I've seen, you're a very good limit tournament player who likely has the skills to succeed playing these types of...

You do realize he is a winning high stakes cash game player right? He has been a pro player for years, plays in the internet 100/200 game (long before he won any WSOP money) and took...

Re: Dammit Paul! Yer not making it easy for us to worship you.

I was at that final table with Todd, and just wanted to throw out a couple of points...

- First, I'm not a big fan of Todd, nor do I dislike him; I have no agenda here but to provide some...

Re: Poker on television through 8/27/05

The second show on Tuesday is Event #4...the $1500 Limit event.

While this one wasn't supposed to be televised, the schedules got rearranged, and this one made it.

Re: Why do the pros always peek at their cards?

In my experience (and this is something I've noticed for years and have spoken to a lot of people bout), players more often look back at their cards before throwing them in (after winning the pot),...

Re: WSOP player of the year?

Kind of an odd point system with Cardplayer....

Cunningham gets 960 points for winning an event with 2,305 players, $1,500 buy-in.

Witteles gets 1,440 points for winning an event...

Re: so exactly how much cash was on the table?

I played in an earlier final table this year, and the cash on the table was $1 bills with two $100 bills on the outside of each bundle.

Of course, it's possible that this time it's all $100s...

Re: Would you take Matusow at 8-3?

For those amounts, they will pay 35% in Federal taxes, plus any State taxes due (I live in California, and it's another 9.3%).

Of course, buy-in fees and any other tournament or side-game losses...

Re: WSOP Event 44 $1000 NLHE - field size?
