Re: Seems like you guys spend more time talking about money than poker

He's got a point about not counting your chickens before they're hatched.

Stick to realistic aspirations. Like turning pro and cashing in the WSOP within 2 years, despite currently being a...

Re: Losing EV not changing your nickname?

Obviously it's not going to tbe the sole deciding factor, but it would make a difference; even if that difference is marginal.

Of course, if you're at a table where another skilled opponent would...

Re: Would u be checking this flop agaisnt this player

Is that a joke?

He has an AF of zero and you're asking if you should try to check/raise him when he's given no indication whatsoever that he'll be betting?

What i want to know is how you recall...

Re: 15/30 - To 3-bet or not to 3-bet?

[ QUOTE ]
What happens when you check raise? KK,88 will bet all the time. AA will bet maybe half the time. So a cr nets you on average 1.5 BB when ahead. You lose 3 BB when behind. But the ratio of...

Re: The Winning Player - Let\'s Define Him

If you define a winning player as one who has a long run winrate exceeding 0BB/100 (assuming there exists a true long run average), you can evaluate it in terms of certainty only.

There is no...

Re: That sinking feeling (using a live read)

In most cases against most players, you are behind.
There are enough players out there who would overplay J's or AK/AQ to make it worth showing down, given the pot size.

Considering the implied...

Re: Win rate

[ QUOTE ]
winning about $2,000 a week for about 1 1/2 months

Typical hourly hand/rates at live games are 35 hands an hour.

You've been playing 40 hours a week for 5.5 weeks, or...

Re: What would be the stratagy for this game?

To be honest, the game doesnt play a whole lot differently than most low limit hold em games with loose passives.

The sole difference is the optimal level of looseness preflop. You could be...

Re: Steve Dannenmann at Taj Mahal 5-10

Flop comes 4-5-6. Steve Dannenmann starts laughing saying how he didn't like that flop b/c that was the flop that he lost to Hachem with.

I get the impression that this...

Re: Theoretical Question on knowing a marked card

Underground joints and home games will almost never have those security features. At those games,...

Re: Theoretical Question on knowing a marked card

There are many ways to mark a deck and get away with it, though i wont discuss all of the ways here.

I've never tried this, nor is it likely that i ever would - but it's interesting to consider.

Re: Playing semiprofessionally....rather part time

If you're able to drop in limits as your bankroll is depleted from swings, you dont need all that much.

If you're relying on poker as a source of income though, splitting your hourly rate in half...

Re: Should I quit? 35k hands at 1/2 and still breaking even..Stats inside

I think the most glaring of issues that i can find is that you fold your BB to steals FAR too often.

The fact that you fold 75% of your big blinds to steals means that you're only marginally more...

Re: KK 3-bets from the BB, flop not good.

With the way you played it, it must have looked to MP as if you were attempting some retarded stop and go turn check/raise as many do when they flop a set, a straight or something comparably big.

Re: Raised on the river

9's and J9s are the only reasonable hands.

if you start foldings hands at the river here though, you're going to have a lot of observant players taking stabs at pots and putting you in difficult...

Re: party 1/2 full questions

How many hands do you play a week roughly?

Re: Do I cap this suited ace preflop?

Your raise isnt bad.

Re: Why do people call/re-raise preflop?

There are a lot of really bad poker players out there.

Limp-raising, relative to many things they do, is fairly insignificant.

It's not good, but it's not terrible.

When you see people do...

Re: folding against very lag bluffer

I call the raise and, given the fact that it's a club, check/fold the turn. If it was a non-ace offsuit card, i'd gaybet/fold to a raise from the button and call down a raise from the SB.

Re: check/call check/call check/raise the river

You'd be a fool to fold the river for one more bet with TPTK in what sounds ilke it would be a large pot against what may very often be erratic players.

Better hands will often raise, and worse hands will almost never fold. Plus there's always a chance that a better hand will check through.

If there are two callers and im OOP,...
